Small Act Network

Small Act Network (www.smallact.com) belive that  “it is the small acts that we can all do that are the most powerful source of change. It is not the big act of one, but the small acts of many that will make this world a better place to live for us and our children.”

Their simple goal is to “raise one penny per person per day ($3.65 per year), which means a potential of over 1 Billion dollars per year for charityin the US. By signing up and simply making SmallAct.com your home page you have the opportunity to reach that penny per day goal to help your favorite charity, and importantly, get there without having to spend any of your own money! “— the money doesn’t come from you, but from sponsors and supporters, for every time you access there web page (ie. making smallact.com your home page– they have a google search too!!)

Something else that’s cool! Every month they have a “New Cause” on their home page. Feeling generous one month? Join the cause and help out! –> This month’s cause “World Hunger” (visit smallact.com to see how you can do a small act to help)

….oh ya and they have a “simple small act of the day” you can do ..you can even suggest one!

PLEASE sign up at smallact.com …..its only $3.65 for the year– for a good cause!

Hi Erica and all…this is Casey Golden, founder of Small Act Network. I got a Google Alert this morning with this blog post, which is so awesome! Thank you for sharing this with your audience.

Just to clarify a couple things, that might be helpful:

    1) The penny per day is what Small Act pays…NOT you! 🙂 The penny comes from advertisements/partnerships on the site, so all you have to do is choose where you want your penny to go!

    2) Going Green –
    a) per Illadel’s comment above, yes, we actually help whichever charity you choose (we have over 5,300 to choose from), and actually about 40% of our users choose at least one ‘green’ charity. October was actually our ‘Climate Control’ month as well. The Charity of the Month, is just for awareness and information, and users can choose to add them to their list.

    b) Small Acts of the Day are most often green tip on how people can get involved for free to help the environment.

    3) We also just launched some awesome partnerships to help raise money for charity faster. My biz partner just raised $32.50 for his charity and $25 for Kiva.org, just for applying for a credit card! If interested, you can see lots of choices on how to help at http://www.smallact.com/offers

Thanks again and best wishes to you all this Holiday Season!

    Cheers!
    Casey

Also, I should note…I’m a committed environment guy…my first company (back in 1991 at age 13) was for biodegradable golf tees…to save the over 40,000 that are cut down each year! 🙂 http://www.visualcv.com/caseygolden .

    Cheers,
